Welcome
Any individual offering counseling services in the state of Mississippi must be licensed with few exceptions. It is the responsibility of this Board to regulate the practice of counseling and the use of the title Professional Counselor as we seek to protect the public health, safety and welfare of Mississippians.
Appointments are required.
For those who are seeking information about licensure, selecting one of the options below will provide details about requirements for that type of license and how to make application with the Board.
For those who are already licensed in Mississippi, selecting the option corresponding to your license will assist you in managing the requirements to maintain your license.
Types of Licenses
There are three types of licensure in the state of Mississippi each with educational, examination and experience components that applicants must fulfill to become licensed.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Universal Recognition of Occupational Licenses Act, Mississippi shall recognize occupational licenses obtained from other states.
For more information about each type of license and how to apply, click on the buttons.
